The Department of Town and Country Planning organised a focus group discussion with the youth residents of Belait District at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall as a continuous effort to involve various stakeholders in the preparation of development plans.
The event aimed to listen and gather input from the youth on their inspiration and challenges towards the development of the district.
The event also encouraged active participation and discussion to explore creative development approaches in generating the economic spin-off activities, improving social welfare and identifying potential projects for a better quality of life.
The youth were divided into four groups and given specific discussion topics, providing an opportunity for the participants to share their opinions on the development issues identified within Pekan Kuala Belait.
At the end of the discussion session, each group presented their outcomes, including solutions and creative aspirations for the future development of a more vibrant Pekan Kuala Belait. The department also held an exhibition on land-use planning aimed to give exposure on several development plans for Belait District.
