Over 20 youth recently delved into fruit carving during a workshop at the Youth Centre on Jalan Bunga Rambai in Kuala Belait. Organised by the Belait Youth and Sports Department and the Youth Development Centre, the workshop aimed to disseminate skills of fruit carving to the aspiring youth.
Hajah Nooraishah binti Haji Osman, who facilitated the workshop, shared that the first half of the workshop focused on the theoretical aspects, which included techniques and equipment used in fruit carving.
In the second half, participants carved their designs on fruits and vegetables in a practical session guided by instructors.
Hajah Nooraishah expressed hope that the participants would gain an appreciation for fruit carving while uncovering potential business prospects in the future.
She said more workshops will be held for Belait youth in the future, covering more advanced techniques. – Daniel Lim
