Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently reinforced its commitment to promoting education and community development through its support of the inaugural An-Najah programme.
The programme was a nationwide quiz competition for Year 6 students of religious primary schools, aimed at fostering excellent student minds by providing a challenging and stimulating intellectual challenge and thought-leadership skills.
The competition, organised by the Committee of Religious Schools Leaders of Brunei 1 Area, was designed to enhance knowledge levels among participants before they sit for the Year 6 Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) – ensuring they are well-prepared for academic success.
By participating in the programme, students had the opportunity to increase their reading interest and improve their information-seeking skills as well as encourage participants to explore a wide range of religious topics and develop critical thinking skills.
The An-Najah programme also helped reinforce important concepts and promote a deeper understanding of Islamic studies in the country.
BIBD’s sponsorship support, demonstrated the bank’s commitment to promoting lifelong-learning and community development, contributing to the creation of a more equitable and inclusive society – in line with the BIBD Sustainability Framework, under the inclusive social impact pillar.
