    Back-to-school support brings financial relief

Twenty-eight orphans and students from underprivileged families in Tutong District yesterday received much-needed assistance from a back-to-school charity programme organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).

The programme aimed to help ease the burden of orphans and students from underprivileged families in preparation for the new school term in 2025.

Several of the recipients have come forward to express their gratitude to the government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the MoHA for the assistance.

Syasya Adilah binti Dirjo Susilo said, “I would like to thank the government of His Majesty for the kind assistance through the programme.”

The student from Tutong Sixth Form Centre added, “This is the first time that I have received such assistance, and I feel that it can really help to ease the burden of spending for the new school term.”

Meanwhile, Hafiz bin Radyharuuindy shared, “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the back-to-school assistance.”

The Year 9 student from Muda Hashim Secondary School also said, “This will really help my parents to ease the burden of expenditure for the new school term.”

Siti Masrani binti Muhd Edy Sukaini from Tanjong Maya Secondary School also expressed her appreciation to the government of His Majesty and the Tutong District Office for the assistance.

She said, “This is the first time that I am receiving assistance on school items. The assistance is very important for students like us to start the new school term because this can help alleviate the financial burden.”
