The Marine Police under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) detected two suspicious boats during a joint operation at Brunei Bay yesterday.
According to the RBPF, the boats containing 385 cans of alcoholic beverages were found abandoned at the mangrove river near Kampong Sungai Bunga housing resident parking areas.
It was believed that the boat operators fled the scene after noticing the presence of the enforcement officers.
The boats and contraband were brought back to the Marine Police headquarters for investigation and handed over to the RCED for further action. – James Kon
