Association holds annual meeting, elects businessman to lead

Businessman Edward Ko was elected to lead the Taiwan Business Association in Brunei Darussalam following the 12th annual general meeting (AGM) last Sunday.

The event, held in Gadong, also saw Chen Minwei elected as supervisor.

Outgoing Chairman Yap Ong Chuan, in his speech, shared the many challenges caused by the COVID-19 outbreak during his two year term.

He also said with support from the members, the association was able to persevere and managed to organise activities within the stipulated health guidelines.

Meanwhile, Edward Ko thanked all members who voted in the election and their support for the association in challenging times. He also thanked outgoing chairman Yap for his contributions.

With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the country, Ko is confident that the association will begin to organise interesting and fun activities once again.

Other elected executive committee members include – Lien Kon Sien, Wu Ming Hsien, Sam Ying Kok, Chuang Hsi Shan, Cheng Wei Chang, Wu Chay Chin, Chen Minwei, Yap Ong Chuan, Lee Meng Yeng, Lien Kok Cheh, Kong Hoo Kok, Liu Hsieh Ling, Edward Ko Yu Lung, Lo Wan Yee and Lien Chun Haw.

Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office Vanessa Shih was the guest of honour.

Meanwhile, Lee Yun Chin of Lee & Raman Auditors was present to ensure the smooth running of the AGM, the election and the handover.
