Dr Andy Lau Sie Chuong was elected as the new President of the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam for the next three years during the 2023 annual general meeting at the association’s building on Tuesday.
The election attended by 81 members also saw the appointment of Jeff Yong Teck Chin as Deputy President, while Wong Nan Luk, Raymond Ting Sii Kiong, Ngu Howe Ing and Vincent Pao were elected as Vice Presidents. Luke Lau maintained his position as the Secretary and Jessica Lee as the Treasurer.
Dr Andy Lau thanked founding president Jackson Ting for his contributions to the association during the past 11 years. He also hoped to maintain the unity within the association during his term of office and also create an education fund for underprivileged students under the association as proposed by Jackson Ting.
It was announced that the association is debt free and had a surplus of BND194,128 in the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
