Assistant State Mufti (‘Ifta) Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Dennie bin Haji Abdullah left for Cairo, Egypt yesterday, as a representative of State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned to attend the Dar Al-Ifta 8th international conference themed, ’The Fatwa and Challenges of the Third Millennium’.
Accompanying him was Senior Istinbat Officer at the State Mufti’s Office Haji Muhammad Ahmad Roza bin Haji Daud.The conference will run from tomorrow until Thursday at Al-Masah Hotel in Cairo.
The conference is organised by the General Secretariat of Fatwa Enforcement Worldwide in Egypt with the aim to outline the importance of the roles of fatwa institutions and authorities when dealing with issues.
It also seeks to further establish a suitable framework to combat challenges relating the fatwa. – Azlan Othman
