Amirul Fa’iq to represent Brunei at international para-badminton

National para-badminton athlete, Awangku Muhd Amirul Fa’iq bin Pengiran Zali is set to compete in the NSDF Royal Cliff Beach BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024 at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall in Pattaya, Thailand from February 20-25.

He departed for Bangkok yesterday, accompanied by a manager and coach Lim Sun Hui. He will compete in the Men’s Singles SH6 (Short Stature) category at the event.

Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Association President Md Zuno Kartono bin Haji Ali was at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell.

The championship is the largest (Grade 1) in para-badminton and one of the tournaments where participants can earn points and subsequently qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
