KABUL (XINHUA) – Afghanistan exported agricultural products worth USD737 million over the past nine months of the year, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported yesterday.
The items included fresh fruits, dry fruits, cotton, vegetables, raisins, grapes, figs and saffron.
The products were mostly exported to China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, India, Russia, Germany, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Canada and Britain.
The government has been encouraging investors to invest in agriculture and farmers to increase production as part of efforts to help the war-battered country recover.
