SEOUL (ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Ador, a sublabel under Hybe, reaffirmed on Thursday that its exclusive contracts with K-pop girl group NewJeans remain in effect, despite the group’s announcement to terminate their agreements.
“The exclusive contracts signed between Ador and the members of NewJeans are still valid,” Ador stated in a press release. “We request that NewJeans continue their engagements with Ador, as they have done so far.”
This statement followed NewJeans’ announcement during a press conference in Seoul that their exclusive contracts with Ador would be terminated as of midnight on Friday. The group cited a loss of trust as their reason for ending the agreements.
Ador, however, dismissed the claims, stating, “The assertion that trust has been unilaterally broken does not constitute a valid reason for contract termination. Ador has not violated the terms of the agreement.”
The situation has garnered significant attention, with fans and industry observers closely watching for developments in the dispute between the globally popular girl group and their agency.
