Seventy-two abandoned vehicles were removed from public spaces between January and April, said the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department’s Law Enforcement Division.
According to the division, the agency and the Land Transport Department removed the vehicles under the auspices of the Abandoned Vehicles Nationwide Clean-Up Project.
The vehicles were found abandoned at parking areas and roadsides and were left unattended for a long period without permission. Sixteen cars were moved to landfills through the project committee while 56 were moved by their owners.
In May, 35 vehicles were identified as abandoned and their owners were issued with warning letters.
