611 candidates qualify for Arabic school

The Examination Division of the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) reported a significant rise in the number of students who passed the entry examination to Arabic schools this year.

According to the results of the Arabic School Candidate Selection for 2023 (PCKSA) examination, out of a total of 1,740 candidates who sat for the PCKSA exam, 611 candidates (35.11 per cent) have met the requirements to advance to Year 5 studies in the relevant Arabic schools for the 2024 recruitment session. This marks an increase of 190 candidates (45.31 per cent) from the 421 who passed in 2022.

Of the total successful candidates, 322 (37.23 per cent) are male candidates, while 289 (33.03 per cent) are female candidates.

Headmasters of the religious schools can collect the candidate results from the Examination Division Office on the Ground Floor of the MoRA building in Berakas.

Parents and guardians of candidates can contact the religious schools to obtain the results.

Parents and guardians of the candidates who have passed the exams can obtain the forms for male candidates at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School and Bandar Seri Begawan Preparatory School for female candidates in the Brunei-Muara District while male and female candidates residing in Tutong District, can get the forms at Ma’had Islam Brunei.

For male and female candidates residing in the Belait District, the forms can be obtained at the Belait Arabic Preparatory School while male and female candidates in Temburong District can get the forms at Temburong Arabic School.

The forms can be obtained on working days (Monday to Thursday) from 8am to noon and from 2pm to 4pm. On Saturdays, the forms will be available from 8am to noon. The deadline for submission is November 20.

For students from Al-Falaah School, the registration and admission forms can be collected from Al-Falaah School in Kampong Sungai Akar School starting today and to be submitted on November 20. – Azlan Othman
