    6.1-magnitude earthquake hits Nepal

    KATHMANDU (ANN/THE KATHMANDU POST) – A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Sindhupalchok at 2:51am on Friday with tremors experienced in Kathmandu Valley and nearby regions.

    According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the epicentre was located at Bhairavkunda in Sindhupalchok district. No reports of casualties or damage have been reported yet.

    The quake prompted residents in the Valley to wake up in the early morning, with some hurrying outdoors. Authorities are evaluating the effects in impacted regions.
