With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a total of 53 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted on Friday, which include 17 officers promoted from Acting Major, Substantive Captain and Lieutenant (RBN) to Substantive Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN), 5 officers promoted from Substantive Captain to Acting Major and 31 officers promoted from Acting Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) and Substantive Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Substantive Captain/ Lieutenant (RBN).
The rank insignias was presented by Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison.
Also present were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Members of Defence Executive Committee, Members of the RBAF Executive Committee and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence as well as family members of the promoted officers.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) to bless the ceremony.
