A total of 38 officers successfully completed the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC) 24/2024.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in Kampong Tanah Jambu.
The cohort comprised 31 officers from the RBAF, one officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), and six international military officers from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan officiated the ceremony. Other attendees included members of the RBAF executive committee, representatives from the RBPF, military directors, defence attachés, advisors from the respective countries, and senior officers from the RBAF and Defence Academy RBAF.
During the ceremony, the RBAF commander presented certificates of course completion and excellence awards to the graduates. Captain Clarence Ong Jun Xiang from the Singapore Navy was recognised with the Overall Best Student Award and the Best Service Paper Award.
Additionally, Lieutenant Haji Norfaizul bin Haji Morni, RBN, from the Royal Brunei Navy received the Best Commander RBAF’s Paper Award.
The 14-week ISC is designed to equip mid-level officers with the skills and knowledge to excel in staff roles within both single-service and joint environments. The course focuses on developing leadership, management, communication, and teamwork abilities. – James Kon
