Thirty-three officers, who completed the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC 21/2022) attended the closing ceremony at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampong Tanah Jambu yesterday.
Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim was the guest of honour.
The ISC 21/2022 was a 13-week course which ran from January 4 to March 31. Thirty two officers from the RBAF and one officer from the RBPF joined the course.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RBAF was not able to accept overseas participants this year. Also in attendance were military directors and the Director of Administration and Finance at the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), deputy service commanders, deputy joint force commanders, and senior officers from the DA RBAF.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses from Surah At-Taubah led by 1099 Lieutenant Mohd Haziq @ Ahmad bin Mohd Ali, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).
In his closing remarks the Commander of RBAirF emphasised the importance of the fundamental concepts and practices, and urged the participants to continuously practise and master them to progress to the next level of personal and professional development.
Brigadier General (U)Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif also took the opportunity to congratulate the participants on their hard work and dedication throughout the course before presenting certificates.
Various awards were presented to participants who excelled in the course, including Overall Best Student Award and the Best Service Paper to 1109 Lieutenant Qurratu’aini Qayyimah Dr Al-Haj Zelzy from the RBN.
The Best Research Essay, also known as the Commander RBAF’s Paper, was awarded to 1093 Captain Nurul Aufa binti Haji Sulia from Directorate of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence.
