    2 vehicles ablaze following a collision involving four cars in Singapore

    SINGAPORE (ANN/The Straits Times) – A collision with four vehicles resulted in two of them catching fire on the PIE close to Paya Lebar on February 27.

    In response to inquiries from The Straits Times, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated that it was notified of the incident following the Paya Lebar Road exit towards Changi around 10.15pm There were no reported injuries.

    Tutor Andrew Goh was out for his nightly stroll around 10.20pm when he spotted a bright orange glow from the flyover above him.

    The 35-year-old mentioned that he quickly realised it was a large fire and he could hear loud popping noises emanating from the accident site.

    After some time, flashing lights that appeared to be from SCDF vehicles became visible near the fire, said Mr Goh, adding that there was still traffic passing through on the expressway.

    According to SCDF, the fire involved two of the cars and was extinguished with a water jet.

    Videos circulating on Telegram revealed that a taxi was part of the collision.

    In response to queries, taxi operator ComfortDelGro said on Feb 28 that they are aware of the accident involving one of their taxis.

    “There were no passengers on board at the time of the incident, and our cabby was uninjured. We will be assisting the police in their investigations,” a spokesperson said.
