(ANN/THE NATION) – More than 40 individuals sustained injuries, and 17 lost their lives when a bus on an educational field trip flipped over while going down Khao San Tone mountain in Prachin Buri’s Na Di district on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at approximately 4am, when a tour bus travelling from Bueng Kan’s Phon Charoen district veered off the curve on Highway 304 while heading to Rayong province.
The vehicle overturned and sustained total destruction. Local police officers and emergency responders transported the injured individuals to Nadi Hospital and Kabinburi Hospital for medical care.
The road is being cleared to ease traffic flow, while the investigation is in progress to establish the cause of the accident.
