Some 1,007 participants joined a 78 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony under the Khatam Al-Quran programme (RKAQ) held under the WARGAMAS Association at the Az-Zakireen Mosque in RPN Kampong Meragang.
President of WARGAMAS Association Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said it was the sixth year it has been held.
He said it serves as special pesambah in conjunction with the birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of certificates and contribution in the form of Buku Kenangan MKAQ 2019-2023 to Az-Zakireen Mosque as well as a showcase on the five years of RKAQ and MKAQ.
Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar was the guest of honour. – Rokiah Mahmud
