His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, as the personal representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was at the Brunei International Airport yesterday to welcome the arrival of Prime Minister of Thailand Srettha Thavisin as well as his delegation who are in the Sultanate for a two-day official visit.
Also present was Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar as Minister-in Attendance.
His Royal Highness and the Prime Minister of Thailand walked past a guard of honour mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Land Forces, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Thavisin was then introduced to foreign envoys in Brunei and permanent secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed with the introduction of Thailand’s delegation to His Royal Highness.
Also in attendance at the airport were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof; Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid; Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the PMO Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali; Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan; Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Thailand Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh; and Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai.
This marks the Prime Minister of Thailand’s first official visit to the Sultanate since he was sworn-in on September 5.
