The initiative to strengthen Da’ie leadership not only aims at producing youth capable of preaching effectively but also the ability to adapt to Dakwah challenges in the digital era, said Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan.

He said this at a ceremony to launch the Dakwah Academy 4.0 at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.

The Da’wah Academy Programme is designed to nurture the talents of Da’ie and share their knowledge on the importance of Dakwah, using the correct methods, he said.

Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim added that the methods of religious propagation – wisdom, proper teaching advice and prayers; and debate, discussion, dialogue, and discourse, are effective in developing leadership in an authoritative Da’ie.

“The development of an authoritative Da’ie, particularly among the younger generation, is important to empower the country’s Dakwah agenda. This needs to be implemented through strategic planning,” he said.

Da’ie youth also play a significant role in providing a positive impact in the building of a society that firmly adheres to the teachings of Islam, said the deputy minister.

He also expressed hope that the programme will help participants to learn the methods of propagation relevant to Al-Quran teachings and Prophet Mohamad’s (pbuh) sunnah.

Themed ‘Impact Driven Da’ie Reviving Our Society’, the ceremony was carried out by the Da’ie Youth Volunteering Body in collaboration with the Youth Religious Programme (PKB) at the PDI.

Forty-four youth of diverse education backgrounds have signed up for the programme.

The programme will come to a close on June 23.
