Twenty-four youth in the Belait District learnt more about the traditional art of weaving baskets over a three-day workshop.
The workshop, which began on Tuesday, saw participants undergo theory and practical sessions on tools, materials and techniques for weaving baskets. A closing ceremony was held on Thursday, with a representative of Youth Development Centre Haji Roslan bin Haji Kurus as the guest of honour.
“The workshop committee had received positive and constructive feedback from the participants, with many hoping for longer and more technical courses in the future,” said Haji Roslan in his closing remarks.
“We will make full use of the feedback that we have gained to better serve the needs of the participants and those who are interested in gaining skills and knowledge,” he added. – Daniel Lim
