Youth leaders join Uzbekistan youth festival

Two youth leaders from Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN) and Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) participated in the Global Youth Festival held in Uzbekistan recently.

The inaugural festival, organised by Uzbekistan’s Youth Affairs Agency in collaboration with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), was held from June 26 to 30.

An estimated 1,000 participants from 150 countries participated in the festival, themed ‘Empowering Youth for Collaboration towards United Nations Youth Strategy 2030′.

Participants discussed topics such as education, entrepreneurship, employment, culture and sports as well as youth exchange programmes related to youth policy affairs.

The festival also aimed to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations in the field of youth and explore future potential cooperation in the field of implementation of socially significant projects and programme, the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as the formation of a platform to strengthen friendly relations between countries all around the world and international organisations. – James Kon
