    Youth join basic culinary class

More than 20 youth from higher institutions, youth associations and communities in the Belait District are participating in a four-day basic culinary class to learn to prepare buns, pastries and beverages at the Youth Centre in the district.

The culinary class is organised by the Belait District Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Pertiwi Association.

The youth attended a theory class on culinary yesterday to familiarise them with basic ingredients and recipes in cooking.

Several practical sessions have been lined up where the youth will follow the recipes outlined in class and learn the techniques of making buns, pastries and beverages hands-on.

Pertiwi Association chairperson Fatimah binti Tanji said the class represents an avenue for the youth to gain experience by preparing popular dishes across the country and pass on the knowledge of the elderly to the next generation.

The class will conclude on September 21. – Daniel Lim
