Fifty youth who participated in the 10th Hijrah Mahabbah Lillah Youth Camp received certificates of participation from Assistant Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Major (Rtd) Sopian bin Haji Mohammad Yassin during the programme’s closing ceremony.
Organised by Yayasan and facilitated by the Al-Qudwah Group at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’ (UNISSA), the camp themed ‘Memelihara Akal Berpandukan Sunnah Rasulullah’ was conducted from December 14 to 16.
The programme was held in conjunction with the Maulud celebration marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The camp also served as a school holiday activity, welcoming 25 male and 25 female students aged 14 to 19 from secondary schools and sixth form centres across the four districts.
Activities during the camp’s first day included an introductory Ta’aruf session, Time Tactics, team-building exercises, archery and a Mawlid ceremony.
The programme aimed to provide exposure and awareness to youth, preparing them to navigate life both in this world and the hereafter through an appreciation of their responsibility as Khalifah on earth.
It also sought to develop youth personalities through the practice of reading and deep understanding of messages in Al-Quran. The camp served as a platform for the participants to engage in meaningful activities rooted in Al-Quran and As-Sunnah, while also strengthening their faith, boosting self-motivation, and testing their mental, emotional, and physical endurance.
Additionally, it aimed to inspire the younger generation to strengthen their connection with Allah the Almighty, foster identity values and build ukhuwah among the participants.
Director of Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language at UNISSA Dr Supri bin Haji Sudin also attended the event held at the UNISSA auditorium on Monday. – Lyna Mohamad
