Youth camp aims to cultivate bravery and vision

Sixty-five mosque youth and secondary school students in the Brunei-Muara District participated in the ‘Perkhemahan Belia Berwawasan dan Berani’ youth camp which commenced with an opening ceremony at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri yesterday.

Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, who is also the Acting Managing Director of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, was the guest of honour.

Dr Nor Imtihan said Yayasan hopes that the Sultanate’s youth will have their self-identity and handle the current changes in line with the youth camp’s theme ‘Visionary and Brave Youth’.

The camp is aimed at expanding the youth’s role in society through self-identity exposure, glorify the mosque, cultivate the sense of responsibility among youth, to be courageous in making decisions, able to face challenges, and polish their potential talents, as well as encourage them to be independent.

The camp, organised by the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Takmir Committee and mosque youth, concludes tomorrow. – Rokiah Mahmud
