Young sepak takraw talents receive prizes

Awangku Muhammad Rayyan Izzuddin bin Pengiran Mas’sof’fian from Tungku Primary School was named champion of sepak takraw basic skills competition while Muhammad Abi Hurairah bin Md Huzaimi also from Tungku Primary School and Muhammad Danial Fikri bin Mohd Azmi from Binturan Primary School were first and second runners-up.

Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSS) won primary schools exercise tournament in both male and female categories. Pantai Berakas Primary School and Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang Primary School were in second and third places in the male category while Sengkurong Primary School and Masin Primary School were first and second runners-up in the female category.

Amyzee anak Roberd from Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang Primary School received award for best male physical education teacher team and Joseph Machado Cabrera from SMSS for best female team.

Acting Director for Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Julaihi bin Mohamad/Mohamat presented prizes to the winners during a ceremony at Jalan 49 Primary School yesterday.

The competitions, organised by the MoE, were open to students in primary schools and schools under Ministry of Religious Affairs. The events attracted 120 participants.

The sepak takraw competition was held to uncover young sporting talents while the exercise tournament was aimed at promoting a balanced lifestyle – physically, mentally, spiritually and socially – among the students. – James Kon
