140 students from Delima Primary School enjoyed a fun-filled day of learning about the impact of climate change and the initiatives to mitigate its effects as part of the Climate Change Environment Education Outreach Project held recently.

Organised by Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (Brunei LNG) in partnership with Big BWN Project, a leading advocate for environmental sustainability and youth development, the project aimed to empower and educate the younger generation about the pressing issue of climate change, fostering a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship.

Climate change remains one of the most critical challenges of our time, affecting ecosystems, communities, and economies worldwide. The project provides opportunities to equip young minds with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand the causes and consequences of climate change, inspiring them to take action towards a more sustainable future.

The activities included an engaging and interactive curriculum that integrates climate change science, environmental conservation, and sustainable practices through fun theatre and edutainment into the existing academic framework.

In 2024, the Climate Change Environment Education Outreach Project aims to implement workshops in 12 schools across Brunei Darussalam, targeting students from Year 1 to Year 12.

Since its inception in 2020, the project has been conducted in 35 schools nationwide. Brunei LNG believes that educating young people about climate change and sustainable practices is vital to shaping a better future for our planet.

By instilling a deep understanding of environmental issues and fostering a sense of urgency, Brunei LNG hopes to empower the next generation to become leaders in environmental stewardship and drive positive change within the country.  – DANIEL LIM
