Thousands of people descended onto Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas yesterday to soak in the street festival atmosphere at Progresif Sdn Bhd’s YO! Day celebration to launch its newest product – Progresif Prepaid YO.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad officiated the event.

Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin also attended.

The brand name or the acronym of the new prepaid product, YO!, was created with the ideology of building ‘your own’ plan. For BND10, customers will get access to a free YO! SIM with BND10 preloaded credit, get to build their own prepaid through the Progresif CARE+ app, and then get to select their preferred add-ons.

YO! Prepaid users can customise their plans based on their needs and budget, with no monthly fee and a variety of options for add-ons for Data, Talk N Text, and a combo pack option, all at an affordable price.

At the event, the company promoted its established and newly released plans, apps, products, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

As a brand and a corporate identity, Progresif places high value on a collaborative and community-based culture, believing that the culture it develops internally fuels what it aspire to give to Brunei Darussalam.

Progresif Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar noted that the company is excited to build on this momentum of delivering the best possible experience while driving innovation to help the people of Brunei live an inspired and connected life.

“The enormous success of our YO! Day event today shows that the Sultanate is glad to support a brand that relentlessly pursues advancement; progresses in favour of providing the public more affordable and simple ways to connect with each other and the world. Through supporting the aspects of education, the arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and environmental preservation, Progresif is always giving back to the community. We serve and with innovation as our core pillar, we are definitely a partner of choice,” she added.

Meanwhile, Big BWN Project founder Noorhafizah binti Rashid said, “Progresif has played a significant role in the growth of Big BWN’s journey, allowing us to further improve and help develop many local small businesses over the years through its support for many of our projects and initiatives. Using this launch event as a platform for exposure, we are happy to collaborate with Progresif once again to give this opportunity to many local youth and small businesses who have different skills, ideas and talents and to connect them to the wider community.”

Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi also officiated the brand-new E-Top Affiliate programme, which provides accessibility and ease to Progresif customers and partners. The promise to the new E-Top Affiliate programme is to provide increased earnings potential for anyone selling Progresif top-up cards.

Progresif also devoted the YO! Day as part of Plastic Free July, a global movement to be part of the solution to plastic waste that is harming our environment – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

As part of the brand’s CSR, the event serves as a reminder of Progresif’s commitment to pledge against using single-use plastic to make efforts for a cleaner and healthier environment in Brunei.
