In Kampong Kiarong where I live, the yellow water issue has continued to wreak havoc on the residents. This is especially true following rain. The water would be so muddy that it resembles teh tarik. A few residents with water filters are spared from the stress. However, can we really expect everyone to be able to afford it?
When it happens, shower becomes a confusing affair. Am I really clean? Do I have to do it again? If it doesn’t wash properly, why am I taking a shower? Same goes for the toilet. My wife once accused me of not flushing after use only to realise that it was just muddy water.
I know the authorities have been working to improve the situation. But the water issue has been plaguing us for such a long time that whenever it rains now, my blood pressure will actually shoot up.
