Wu Chun was appointed the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) World Cancer Day Ambassador.
Wu Chun, in the Sultanate to celebrate Chinese New Year, also attended the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre’s (PJSC) World Cancer Day weekend 2023 yesterday.
He has always been an advocate as PJSC’s Goodwill Ambassador and Messenger of Cancer Awareness.
“From 2019, I have been working closely together with PJSC to raise cancer awareness,” he said in an interview. “This year, I felt happy attending PJSC’s World Cancer Day Weekend. I was also appointed the UICC World Cancer Day Ambassador, which is an honour.”
He said, “Raising awareness on cancer is very close to my heart because my mother passed away from cancer in 2002.
“I hope my efforts can help raise the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer.
“A relative recently passed away and it is saddening,” he added.
Wu Chun also revealed he undergoes a complete blood test twice a year. “I hope everyone does an annual checkup for early detection and prevention,” he said.
