An employer engagement workshop organised by Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs (OAVCAA) at the Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Advancement (ILIA) on Thursday brought together educators and employers to explore ways to better prepare graduates for the job market.
It also focused on understanding employer perspectives, aligning education with industry needs and enhancing curriculum based on employer feedback.
The event facilitated discussions between participants from various sectors, shedding light on the skillsets employers value in recent graduates. Employers shared insights on how education can better align with industry expectations, setting the stage for collaboration between academia and the job market.
As a result of the workshop, UBD will integrate the identified skillsets into its curriculum, ensuring graduates are equipped with practical abilities alongside academic knowledge.
The initiative reflects the university’s commitment in solidifying its path towards achieving its vision and mission, to produce job-ready graduates and fostering collaboration with industry partners.
