Low-income and underprivileged local entrepreneurs recently attended a workshop on ‘Empowering the Aspiring Entrepreneurs’ organised by La Vida Bhd in collaboration with Laksamana College of Business (LCB).
The two-day workshop, also attended by business owners under the Mobile Dream Catcher (MDC) programme, was facilitated by LCB Student Council in celebration of Day of Action 2024 themed, ‘Rising Together: Empowering in Hearts for a Greater Future’.
Chief operating officer (COO) and deputy principal of LCB S Sivarajah, in his opening remarks, said, “We are proud to be able to provide this space as we in LCB believe that education can create positive impact in each other’s lives.
“We’re not just having an event; we’re building a community that supports and uplifts each other. Thank you and let’s make the most of this opportunity to create positive and lasting change.”
The workshop provided participants with knowledge-based activities according to the Day of Action clusters, social entrepreneurship and youth development, as well as necessary skills to boost their abilities and support social entrepreneurship.
Participants also underwent a one-day crash course on social media marketing and profit-making facilitated by LCB lecturers Dr Afiqah binti Amin and Rohaizah. – Lyna Mohamad
