Workshop focusses on negation, influence skills

Baiduri Bank continued its collaboration with Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) for the eighth installment of the MSME Empowerment Series at the Auditorium, iCentre Building located at the Anggerek Desa Technology Park.

The one-day workshop focussed on negotiation and influence skills in business.

The MSME Empowerment Series hosted workshops on a variety of topics such as accelerated design thinking, developing a digital marketing strategy workshop and strategic planning development workshop since April 2019.

Through the collaborative effort, Baiduri Bank and DARe aim to empower more Bruneian MSMEs to grow their businesses as well as create greater impact on the business community as a whole.

Under the economic pillar of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, the bank together with DARe will be able to leverage on each other’s strengths to further extend support to local entrepreneurs.

The workshop was facilitated by Mark Stuart, a sought-after corporate trainer of award-winning training company Anagram Group, who possesses over 15 years of experience and is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP). Mark has trained over 450 multi-national corporations (MNCs), government agencies, and universities in Innovation, Leadership and Soft Skills.

Some 40 MSMEs were given a pre-determined challenge statement to apply the Design Thinking framework. They also learnt how to master the art of influence to achieve win-win outcomes and strengthened negotiation skills based on needs, wants and demands in business through roleplays.

“The collaboration between Baiduri Bank and DARe over the years solidified our commitment in the MSME sector to provide comprehensive business solutions to fill in the gaps hindering the growth of MSMEs in Brunei.

“Part of the bank’s CSR effort is to become one of the main banking partners in supporting the MSMEs in their pursuit of growth,” said Baiduri Bank Chief Executive Officer Ti Eng Hui.
