A car workshop in the Tutong District was issued recently with a BND500 fine by the Tutong District Office for spilling vehicle oil into the drainage system.
The fine must be settled within seven days, and failure to do so will result in the case brought to court. If found guilty, the company could face a fine of at least BND2,000 and not more than BND10,000.
Subsequent offences will see a penalty of no less than BND10,000 and no more than BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months or both.
