Islam has always encouraged its Ummah to protect faith, life, intellect, lineage and property, as the purpose of Syariah.
This was said by Imams during the Friday sermon yesterday, in commemoration of the Workplace Safety and Health Day, themed ‘Work Together to Build a Positive Safety and Health Culture’ this year.
An unsafe workplace is regarded as an uncontrolled source of danger, which can lead to accidents and harm, according to Imams, adding that the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority has been entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing workplace safety and health order.
Imams explained that among the measures to improve the culture of safety and health in the workplace is through the management’s commitment in implementing objectives related to safety.
The management also needs to hold discussions with their employees before making any decisions regarding safety and health, while effectively discussing the goals and objectives of the safety measures that will be implemented, said the Imams.
They also called on the management to ensure that their employees receive necessary courses and training to improve their competency at work, thus building a positive, safety and health culture.
