Women participate in Munajat night

Women play a crucial role in shaping prosperous family institutions, community and Muslims.

Women’s involvement in propagation especially in inviting towards pious acts and beneficial activities is highly recommended in Islam.

Hence, the Munajat night on Saturday was held specially to involve women congregants from Women Council and associations under it. Among them were Women Bureau of Wargamas Association, and Muslimah from Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampong Tanjong Bunut, and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Mosque in Kampong Jangsak.

Muslimah from 23 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide along with the women workforce from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) also participated from their residences.

President of Women Council Datin Hajah Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohd Yusof led the Munajat from Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis Madang with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

Joining were association members under the Women Council – Pertiwi Association; Women’s Institute (WI); Welfare Body of the Spouses of the Senior Government Officials and Women Officials (BISTARI); Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam; Women’s Welfare Association in Belait District; Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB); Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam; Royal Brunei Armed Forces Wives Welfare Body (BAKTI); Tutong District Women’s Welfare Association (PERGANITA); RPN Lambak Kanan Women’s Welfare Body (BAKANITA); and Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL).

The recitation of Surah Yaasiin was led by the winner of Al-Quran reading competition for adults this year Dayangku Fauziah Nadhirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri. Doa Munajat was led by Wargamas Association Secretary General Hajah Sinega binti Haji Swadi.

A religious talk on ‘Supplication’ was delivered by Religious Officer at Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Siti Juhaidah binti Haji Bujang from Ar-Rahman Mosque highlighting Doa as a tool for the pious.

She also underlined the need for Doa regardless of the situation and to pray for the well-being of parents for their service and sacrifice.

Selawat Ibrahimiyyah was led by Ar-Rahman Mosque Muslimah Head Hajah Norain binti Haji Abdul Ghani. Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Women Guidance Teacher at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Silver Jubilee Mosque Aimi Amalina binti Haji Abdullah.

The Munajat night organised by the MoRA invites the public to intensify their daily practice of reciting Al-Quran, Doa, Zikir and Istighfar to seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah the Almighty.
