A local woman yesterday pleaded guilty to charges of physically abusing her nephew during court proceedings of a case involving the death of a four-year-old boy.
Nur Amal Shakinah binti Ahmad Termizi was produced in the Intermediate Court presided by Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni where the defendant pleaded guilty to four counts of physical abuse against her nephew.
In mitigation, the defendant sought leniency as she has two young children of her own to take care of.
Judge Radin Safiee adjourned the case to February 14 to hand down sentence.
The case against the defendant’s husband, who now faces a murder charge and seven other counts in relation to child abuse of the same victim, will appear in court tomorrow.
