Woman detained for immoral activities

Enforcement officers from the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detained a local woman, believed to be involved in immoral activities, during a raid of a motel in Kampong Mulaut yesterday.

The unemployed 41-year-old had been staying in a room at the motel for three days.

Police personnel discovered a mobile phone, cash and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was brought to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for a COVID-19 swab test before being transported to Seria Police Station to await test result before conducting investigations.

The case is investigated under section 29A, Chapter 22 of the Penal Code for the offence of offering sexual services as well as the offence of consumption of controlled drugs under Section 6 (b), Chapter 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) and Section 7, MDA Chapter 27 for the possession of drug paraphernalia.
