The pairing of Muhd Arrif bin Haji Amli and Muhd Halifi bin Haji Amli from the Wisdom Bowls Club emerged winners of the 5th WBC-PLBC Trophy at the Panaga Club in the Belait District yesterday.
The pair defeated the Royal Brunei Airlines Lawn Bowls Club duo of Muhd Nazid bin Haji Nudin and Muhd Rudy Aminorzaman 13-6 in the final.
In joint third place was the pairing of Tobias Tahal and Damian Brady from the Panaga Lawn Bowls Club and the Wisdom Bowls Club duo of Haji Osman bin Haji Yahya and Nur Uzma Khadijah @ Esmawandy binti Brahim.
Meanwhile, the pairing of Muhd Hazmi Haji Idris and Abdul Rahim Mohd Taib won the plate category after defeating their teammates Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laksamana Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Taha and Matossen bin Haji Abdul Rahman 10-6.
The duo of Neil Lynch and Warren Jones from the Panaga Lawn Bowls Club and the pairing of Haji Amli bin Haji Ghafar and Bahren bin Haji Abdul Rahman from the Wisdom Bowls Club shared third place.
Head of the Youth and Sports Department in the Belait District Shahjohan bin Haji Shari presented the prizes.
The tournament was organised by Wisdom Bowls Club with the cooperation of the Panaga Lawn Bowls Club.
