The Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) held an appreciation ceremony for former minister of culture, youth and sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin yesterday.
The ceremony was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, Kampong Bengkurong.
The ceremony aimed to serve as an expression of gratitude for the contribution, support, concern and care from Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan towards people with different abilities (OKU).
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah ‘Abasa by Hakim Imanuddin bin Asarwih, who is vision-impaired, from the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB) followed by the reading of its interpretation by Md Rafiq bin Mohd Afendy, who has autism, from Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei and sign language by Advisor of the National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) Dr Hajah Norbayah binti Haji Shahminan.
A welcoming address followed by MKOKU President Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab and a speech by Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan.
