The Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) hosted its annual Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 1445 Hijrah at Suri Seri Begawan Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and his spouse were among the attendees.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses by MKOKU members and their families.
It continued with the recitation of Takhtim and Dikir Marhaban by MKOKU educators and a closing prayer by a visually-impaired individual, followed by the presentation of certificates to participants by the minister.
The event aimed to encourage regular reading of Al-Quran among MKOKU members, seek blessings, strengthen bonds and express gratitude for the nation’s support towards individuals with different abilities.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, government representatives and members of associations under MKOKU were also present. – Fadley Faisal
