Weekly Tamuneka returns after hiatus

“It is an enjoyable experience for us to be able to set up our family stall, especially with new facilities and open-air concept,” said a stall-keeper at Tudung Saji, Anisah HB, who has been helping her father tend his stall for the past few months as she hopes to continue to sell their produce.

Another stall-keeper Hee Siang Heng also expressed delight over the larger space of Tudung Saji, adding that “despite the small stall space compared to the one in Seria, it is a better and more comfortable experience for everyone”.

He added that with Tamuneka operating on weekends, he is seeing more customers, especially expats and workers, which he hopes will further boost the business.

These were the comments shared by Tamuneka stall-keepers during an interview with the Sunday Bulletin, who visited the premises to learn the progress of business owners after the Kuala Belait (KB) and Seria Municipal Board restarted the weekly event following its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tamuneka Kuala Belait is located at Tudung Saji, Jalan Setia Diraja. It is held every Saturday from 2pm to 6pm and Sunday from 6am to 11.30am.

Meanwhile, Tamuneka in Seria will continue to operate on Thursdays and Fridays. The KB and Seria Municipal Board reminded customers and business owners to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines.
