The Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) organised the first of its webinar series ‘Promoting Reading Culture 2023’ yesterday.
The theme for this year’s webinar is ‘Brunei Membaca’. Two working papers were presented by psychological consultant Pengiran Hartini binti Pengiran Haji Tahir titled ‘Autism Early Education and Reading Literacy’ and founder of the Brunei Library Association Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Zainal entitled ‘The Role of the Library Association in Fostering Reading Culture’. Acting Director of DBP Dayang Hajah Sariani binti Haji Ishak said that the initiative will raise awareness among the community on the importance of reading.
