The National Standards Centre, Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) with support from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) organised a webinar on ‘Benefits of Standards’ on April 20-21.

The webinar’s objectives were to raise awareness on best practices by promoting the importance and the use of standards; ensuring sustainability and effectiveness within the organisation through standards compliance while meeting international requirements; as well as strengthening cooperation and collaboration among the stakeholders on the development of standards in support of trade facilitation.

She acknowledged the support from ASEAN and its dialogue partners through the ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Quality (ACCSQ) and ISO’s role in the development and implementation of standards, which will help to address technical barriers to trade towards facilitating market access and creating more trade opportunities.

Chair to ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Quality (ACCSQ) Pengiran Suridah binti Pengiran Haji Sulaiman, as well as ISO Secretary General Mr Sergio Mujica also delivered their remarks via video recording.

Acting Director of the National Standards Centre Allen On also attended.
