A total of 156 participants joined a webinar series ‘Promoting Reading Culture 2023’ via Zoom application.
The webinar was organised by the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) through its Library Division.
Two paperworks were delivered, ‘Membaca Amalan Mulia’ by Malay language coordinator of PDRM MARA Junior Science College Kulim Kedah, Malaysia cum Deputy Chairman (T) of Badan Permuafakatan Pendidikan MARA (Muafakat) Drs Yahya Farid bin Haji Kamaludin.
The second paperwork was delivered by Senior Librarian of the National Library Board Azizah binti Osman on ‘Cultivating the culture of reading among children which provides guidance to increase interest in reading’. Participants comprised government officers and staff, librarians, local and foreign teachers and students.
The next webinar will be held on August 22 with a paperwork presentation by Assistant Professor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Dr Malai Zeti binti Sheikh Abdul Hamid who is also the President of Brunei Reading and Literacy Association; and founder of the podcast Izzydoesit Iskandar bin Karim. – Rokiah Mahmud
