The Embassy of Iran in Brunei Darussalam organised a webinar entitled, ‘Blessings for Mothers’ on Thursday to commemorate the Mother’s Week celebration in Iran.

Iranian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Homeira Rigi Zirouki said this week has been named the week of mothers and women in Iran to honour the status of mothers and women, which also coincides with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) daughter Sayyidatina Fatimah Az-Zahraa’.

“This week, all mothers and exemplary women in various fields including social, sports, political and arts are appreciated and honoured,” she said.

“In our country, due to the importance of issues related to women and families, we have a special vice president for women and family affairs, active throughout the country in identifying and providing support to successful women in sports, management, society, art, and entrepreneurship and affected women,” said the ambassador.

Ambassador Rigi added that they are proud of their Muslim females, who have made great strides in the community despite having own family responsibilities.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Hajah Sarsinah binti Haji Yusuf.
A recitation of Doa Kesyukuran by Hajah Sarsinah followed by Tausyeh by Husna Hurulain brought the webinar to a close. Bruneians also participated in the event.
