Serikandi Group of Companies has conducted its annual wave of charity yesterday in preparation for the upcoming month of Ramadhan and as part of the company’s annual corporate social responsibility.
Present at the event at Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque was Serikandi Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad who handed over 285 cartons of mineral water and 31 cartons of dates to 16 mosques and religious halls across the Belait District.
Assistant Belait District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed and Head of the Belait District Religious Officer at the Belait District Religious Affairs Office Mohamad Aliyani bin Ismail were the guests of honour.
The contingent then departed to the grand ballroom of Serikandi Restaurant on Jalan Singa Menteri where Shaikh Haji Khalid handed donations to the Belait District Orphans’ Fund.
He handed over BND3,000 from the Serikandi Oilfield Services and BND1,500 from Ya-Nur Trading Company as well as personal contribution of BND1,000 to the fund.
In addition, Jisco Marine Sdn Bhd Managing Director Shaikh Ahmad Khalis bin Shaikh Haji Khalid handed over BND1,500 on behalf of Jisco Marine.
