Brunei Qari Haji Mohammad Zul-Hafiz bin Tengah, who clinched third place at the 63rd International Al-Quran Recitation and Memorisation competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 19 to 24, received a warm welcome upon arrival at the Brunei International Airport on Friday.
Haji Mohammad Zul-Hafiz walked away with a MYR20,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. Qariah Dayangku Fauziah Nadhirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri also participated in the competition.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh were at the airport to welcome the Qari and Qariah. – Azlan Othman
